Path Rush (Juncus tenuis) 12-pack of plugs

$25.00

Can be shipped.

***12-pack MINIMUM ORDER***: If ordering 12-packs, you must order *at least six 12-packs*. You can mix and match 12-packs of different species.

What are plugs? Plugs are plants grown in 72-cell trays; each soil plug is 1.6” wide x 3.2” deep. They are a great option for planting large gardens. We plant all of our own projects with plugs.

Path Rush is a little grass-like plant that often grows in paths, as the name suggests! You can often find this plant growing along trails in State Parks. It can grow as tall as 12 inches but stays shorter with frequent foot traffic and compacted soils. Rushes have rounded, pointy stems, and this one resembles many of the popular "Juncus" container plants that people plant with annuals. It can tolerate a wide range of soils, shade or sun, and moisture levels.

Details

Perennial
Sun:
Part Shade, Full Sun
Moisture:    Medium, Wet - Dry
Height:    12 inches
Blooms:    July, Aug, Sept
Spacing:    8 - 12"
Spreads: A little by seed
Zones:    2-9
Benefits:    Groundcover

Design Tips

Path Rush is one of the few native plants that can survive a lot of foot traffic. It can be planted in paths, but since it can grow 12 inches tall without being trampled, you might want to also plan on trimming or mowing it so that it stays short.

Great native plant choice for the Minnesota Lawns to Legumes grant program!

Pennsylvania Sedge
Wild Strawberry
